Despair.... ANOTHER WEAPON OF GOD! Odd? Yes, but ultimately ... TRUE
69I depaired to the point of VICTORY
The Spirit of despair has been around as long as human emotions have been around. A lot of despair finds it's core in the legalistic attempt and ultimate feeling of failure when we don't live up to our definitions and expectations of what success before the Lord should feel and look like.
But there is a Spirit of despair that has been turned loose on this planet that makes THAT type of despair seem like how it would feel if our power went out during our favorite version of SpongeBob! Collectively right now, there is a well oiled machine and plan of attack that is crushing Christians and non Christians alike.
Despair hitting business communities ACROSS THE BOARD ! The spiraling financial losses in this current seemingly unending economic downturn. Ministries trying to do the work of the Lord in a time when there is obvious NEED for such help are facing the most trying seemingly failing times in MY memory at least!Families loosing their homes, PAINFUL DECISIONS being the norm rather than the exception of the "Praying, God fearing, God TRUSTING Christian families!
Has God said, "Enough is enough!", "You mock me on t.v every hour of every day, More and more I have become a fairy tale and more and more God loving children of the Lord are turning their backs rather than take a stand for the God who has blessed this nation from it's inception? This GOD FEARING nation built upon morals and statutes, this blessed nation with ethics and values put into stone so to speak by our founding Fathers?
In 2 Corinthians 4:7-10 Paul addresses despair and all that come with it, "7But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
The definition of despair is formed from two words, The first meaning, "The point where something begins, or (a trigger point)", the other part of the word means, " To feel like you have no way out!"
So, in a nutshell, despair begins for a purpose and continues until the person feels like, "There is no hope!... No way out!" ... Sound familiar? Do we know an accuser with this M.O.?
Yes! We do.
At this point I am obligate to point out that he roars, "Like" a lion, seeking whom he may devour!
Trust me when I tell you, that the last few years of my life have been filled with disappointment, even to the point, MANY times lately of DESPAIR! I have found myself countless times as of late saying, "Lord, where are you?" "How much longer Lord will these atrocities, assignments and attacks go unchecked? Though, in the spirit, they are FAR from UNCHECKED. The Lord stores up every tear we've EVER shed on account of the suffering children, (of all ages) on this planet. When we find ourselves travailing, sobbing violently for the hurt and pains common to mankind, we are SHARING THE VERY HEART OF GOD! What the enemy meant for evil AGAIN, the Lord means for good! He is building a church that CANNOT BE SHAKEN! Period!
Not only that but, a believing body that is becoming a force to be reckoned with! A people, who, when God/ satan is finished with us will stand firmly in the face of the adversary and say... "Is that ALL you've got" Now through into the mix that that is the resolve being instilled into us, even if God had turned His back on us... but He hasn't! Not at all!
In the earlier quoted verses in 2 Corinthians 4:7-10 Paul described us as "Fragile clay jars." Alone , we could be crushed like a dirt clod under an 18 wheeler. We could easily collapse under the pressure of despair so rampant on the filthy streets of anytown, any country!
But because of the adversity, the constant pressure, the Spirit is growing STRONG in us. Strong to the point where i can honestly, (for the most part) say "FINE! I DON'T CARE WHAT last ditch darts the desperate enemy is throwing at me!"
Because Gods Spirit, his heart, His love, His Holy Spirit lives WITHIN us, external pressure, no matter how intense CANNOT crush our lives.... Paul said that this picture of a fragile clay jar filled with God's presence is a very clear witness to the world that the POWER to remain uncrushed,is from GOD, not from ourselves. This is in fact a POWERFUL testimony to those who otherwise would fall to the spirit of despair
I BELIEVED SO I SPOKE!
Paul provides a wayto DEFEAT THE SPIRIT OF DESPAIR in 2 Corinthians 4:13-18 ," It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken. With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, 14because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. 15All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
16Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
As is ALWAYS the case, when it seems like God has turned His back on us, when it seems like the enemy has found more power somehow than he is supposed to have.... God has ALWAYS, had our strengthening, our HOPE and our maturity as Christians as HIS main goal, His plan, His will and His "Higher ways" working for us an eternal glory that the enemy will not be able to comprehend, EVER! From Glory to Glory, I praise MY Lord and will do so with my dieing breath! Thank You Father! Thank you Jesus!

In reading through the article, I realized that it almost looks like I'm inferring that God would prefer us to live a life of despair.... The point I'm trying to put into print is that despair... like open war IS UPON US! Yet Christians, th...ose who's hope and focus is REALLY in the Lord can either give in and give up in despair or, once again, we can choose to believe that despite it all GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL. Which affords us, Believers one more opportunity to, in Christ, become beacons of light and hope through it all. And, as always, the darker it gets out there the brighter we stand out as lighthouses of hope and prove...ONE MORE TIME... that there is NO FORCE, no unseen event, no sneak attack, no assignment that can do anything beyond accomplish the will of God! In all things... We were born for such a time as this!!!
